They say Glory awaits you at the finish line and for Davon, he had that and more as he smiled his way to the finish line cheered on by his teammates at the Berlin marathon this past weekend.
Lara on the other hand took her lovelies out for a spin during her 5x10k relay and shared a beautiful picture.

The first major event of a packed fun-filled fall marathon season produced a series of firsts as the Berlin marathon kicked off this past weekend. We’ve got our adrenaline pumping because of the coming races in the next few weeks.
Bethwel Yegon takes second place
Kenya’s Bethwel Yegon came second in the Berlin Marathon after finishing 29 seconds behind Ethiopia’s Adola who won the race in 2.05.45. Bekele a two-time winner and a crowd favorite came in third in 2.06.47. Yegon on the other hand had the biggest breakthrough of the day in second place with 2:06:14, taking almost two minutes off his best.

The Tokyo marathon that was set for October 17th has been canceled citing a COVID 19 state of emergency in the capital and postponed to March 2022. London marathon which is the second event is set to take place on Sunday women’s race will feature among others defending champion Brigid Kosgei, who is also the world record holder in marathon and New York marathon champion Joyceline Jepkosgei. You can catch the race this Sunday on BBC Livestream.
End of an Era for Keitany
39-year-old Kenyan Elite Marathon runner Mary Keitany said goodbye to a sport she loved dearly this past week. Mary retired from the sport on Wednesday citing a back injury sustained in 2019. Keitany who won the London marathon three times also adds four-time New York City marathon wins to her impressive career. All the best to her in her future endeavors.

Ethiopians Dominate Berlin Marathon
Ethiopians dominated the Berlin marathon this weekend winning both the men’s and women’s races. Guye Adola won the men’s race while Gotytom Gebreslase won the women’s race on her debut clocking an impressive 2.20.09. Her compatriots Hiwot Gebrekidan and Helen Tola came second and third to bring home an Ethiopian clean sweep of the podium places.
Bekele promises a sub 2 hours marathon
Ethiopia’s Bekele who was 2 seconds short of Kipchoge’s time in 2019 when he won the Berlin marathon shared his plans to run a sub-2-hour marathon. Bekele who was the race’s favorite attempted to yet again break Kipchoge’s record but fell short and came in third.
“My plan is not only to break the world record before I retire. Everybody is talking about sub-two hours, so why not?," said Bekele, 39, after finishing third at Sunday's Berlin Marathon.
