Meet our newest addition to the family: Koobi Fora. The Koobi Fora is a nimble trail shoe that allows you to dance over any terrain. Upfront of the upper is a ripstop fabric for extra protection and water resistance, and an ariaprene fabric booty that hugs your foot around the heel.

Unfortunately, we recently discovered an aesthetic issue with some of the shoes with creasing in the toe and visible glue around the sole. We know from spot checks that we still have some stock that has this issue, and have decided to offer the shoe at a discount at the final sale.

Creasing and glue issues vary by color and shoe, we want to give you clear examples of the issue. The performance of the shoe is still strong, as the problems are aesthetic only. Your shoes may be perfect or you might see creasing and/or glue, that is why we offering them discounted at final sale.

Please see images in the carousel for examples of the issues.

This KOOBI is FORA me!!!!

I am not a runner. I bought these shoes because i do a lot of walking on my job. I am sure they are great running shoes but i wanted to see how tough they are as well. I bought them and they came in a few days. Ive had them for about two weeks and they are holding up fine. They are lightweight and very durable. They fit well on my feet. Easy to break in. Comfortable. Soon I will buy another pair just to style. Ive recommended them to my friends. The shoes are designed for running and stunting. i love these shoes.

Kenya Rocks!

Finally a narrow fitting shoe. Although I'm no longer running, I appreciate the cushion and comfort for city walking. I may try them out for grass volleyball.

An interesting 1st generation shoe!

RE. ENDA OVERALL… I’m proud to have received two pairs of Endas! They are well-made, tough, and designed for lightness and simplicity. These are forward-looking designs without all the plastic ‘technology’ that big companies have spent decades telling us is necessary for our feet. The bird-inspired colour combinations are a stroke of genius and look simply magnificent. Enda shoes are neither ‘maximalist’ nor ‘minimalist’ but sort of in between. So, how well is it working?

RE. KOOBI FORA 1.0… I’m looking forward to seeing this design develop! I have run 17km in these over 3 runs around the sandy and stony roads of northern Dar es Salaam. The Koobi Foras are very low-profile, like a slipper, sitting well below the ankle. The soles are the highlight: I like the firmness and flatness, which feels especially fast going uphill, and they’re a lot more stable and responsive than the Lapatet 2.0, especially over uneven surfaces. I have had two main issues: (1) The length is not bad for my size 47 feet, but the shoe is a poor fit because I have long toes and the toe box is pointed and narrow in shape. I have still been able to get some use out of the shoes by removing the insoles and doing some creative lacing. As an online shopper I cannot try before I buy, so I hope Enda will start showing width on their sizing guide in addition to length. (2) The water-resistant fabric on the toe box is quite thick. Maybe this material is good for cool, higher-altitude environments, but for tropical, sea-level Dar es Salaam we need something more breathable. I’m very happy I’ve tried this shoe, but at the end of the day I am looking for a trail shoe that will allow my toes to naturally stretch in response to changing terrain. Of course this is a first-generation shoe and I look forward to what Enda does next! Mungu awabariki, Team Enda!

great fit

What I particularly like about the Koobi Fora that sets it apart is the elastic sock or cuff under the tongue. This makes it cling to the foot, so there is no rolling. For example, if you accidentally put your foot down on a stone, your foot does not rotate inside the shoe. Your contact with the ground remains firm and stable.

So Far So Good!

I've had the Koobi Fora's for a few weeks now. Very comfortable fit. I think the tongue design could be improved and we'll see about long term durability. But just like all Enda's I've owned the fit my feet so well and are super comfy to wear. Thumbs up for now. Hopefully Thumbs up long-term too!
