Enda Lapatet Swahili Daily Trainer shoe CollectionThis collection was inspired by traditional clothing from Kenya's diverse cultural groups.
The Swahili are a Bantu speaking community from coastal Kenya. For centuries Bantu, Arab, Indian, and Portuguese traders worked the East African coast. Interaction between these communities at the East African coast gave birth to the Swahili. Predominantly muslim, Swahili women customarily wear a black buibui (cloak) and men a white kanzu (tunic). It is from this palette that we made our shoes.
